How does a web proxy work?
You can think of a web proxy as a remote computer. Once you configure your browser to use a proxy, when launched it will send your request to the proxy. The proxy then reaches out to the website and pulls the requested web page then sends it back to you. The advantage of an anonymous proxy is that the website you go to through the proxy only sees the proxies IP address and not your own. A proxy is a good way to safely navigate the web without revealing your real IP address to the sites you visit.
